공중화장실 몰래카메라 손쉽게 탐지한다

[일요주간 = 김성환 기자] 국민이 제안한 몰래카메라 정밀 탐지 기술이 제품화된다.

행정안전부는 한국전자기술연구원과 함께 인공지능(AI) 기술 등을 적용, 공중화장실과 숙박시설 등 다중이용시설에 설치된 몰래카메라를 손쉽게 확인할 수 있는 기술을 개발해 13일부터 현장에 시범적용 한다고 밝혔다.

몰래카메라 탐지 기술은 2018년 국민참여 아이디어 공모에서 선정된 과제다. 카메라 적외선 반사 이미지를 AI 학습을 이용해 원거리에서 자동으로 탐지하고, 전자기파의 세기 변화를 추적해 대략적인 위치까지도 확인할 수 있다.

기존 상용 탐지기는 몰래카메라에 근접해야만 탐지할 수 있고 육안으로 확인해야 한다. 또 실제 어느 곳에 설치돼 있는지 탐지하는 데 한계가 있었다.

이번에 개발된 기술과 시제품은 일산 호수공원 내 공중화장실 세 곳(폭포화장실·광장화장실·두루미화장실)에 시범 설치했다.

국민은 휴대전화에 실제로 부착해 몰래카메라를 탐지해 보고 기술의 우수성을 체험할 수 있다.

행안부는 앞으로 1년여 기간 실증 시연과 시범서비스를 진행하고, 성능 개선을 통해 제품화를 추진할 계획이다.

김재흠 행안부 재난협력정책관은 “날로 지능화되는 몰래카메라를 손쉽게 탐지할 수 있게 돼 국민이 안심하고 다중이용시설을 이용할 수 있을 것”이라며 “앞으로도 국민이 필요로 하고, 생활 속에서 느끼는 불안 요인을 해결할 수 있는 기술개발을 지속해서 확대할 계획”이라고 전했다.
